George Were

George leads GNP with over a decade of experience in agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and community-driven conservation. He holds a BSc in Agricultural Economics (Egerton University) and an MSc in Plant Breeding and Genetics (University of Nairobi). George has managed restoration projects with A Rocha Kenya and Eden: People + Planet, and consulted on commercial farming in Kenya and Tanzania. He has also supported REDD+ and ARR carbon credit initiatives in Loita Forest and Dakatcha Woodlands. Skilled in stakeholder engagement and program design, George is passionate about linking ecological restoration with social and economic transformation.
