David is a conservationist with expertise in coastal restoration and community-led conservation. He holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science (Maseno University) and a Master’s in Environmental Science (Pwani University). David currently leads the Lamu County Restoration Initiative, focusing on ecological connectivity in coastal ecosystems. Formerly Mangrove Restoration Manager at Eden: People + Planet, he oversaw the restoration of 2,800 hectares of degraded forests and trained 17 communities in ecological restoration strategies. He also contributed to the Mangrove Carbon Project in Mozambique. David’s work is driven by the belief that restoration succeeds when communities are at the center.
